NESTO GROUP Realizes 5% Increase in Revenue while using Electronic Shelf Labels
Nesto Super Markets operates in 8 countries across the GCC and India with 82 + stores and over 168,000 employees. Known as an innovative business, it wanted to find a more agile way to promote offers, react to competitors’ changes and increase the frequency of price markdowns to protect margins. They were also looking to reduce the amount of time the sales staffs spend manually adjusting price labels, to provide a better service to customers and gradually cut operational costs associated with paper-based labelling.
Nesto Group finally decided to implement the Electronic Shelf labels to address this issue and apparently, they became the first Supermarkets in the region to adapt this technology. In 2018 they decided to integrate ESL in their stores with good-looking labels, an easy installation, high readability. One important criteria was that the solution to be 100% reliable to guarantee the customers trust in this new digital era.
Following an extensive review process and an ROI calculation, Nesto decided to integrate the ESL Solution within the Perishable Sections that covers departments like Fresh fruits & Vegetables, Butchery, Sea food, Bakery, Hot food and Delicatessens. They named it Phase I and started rolling out across all the stores. This Phase was strategized to achieve a faster ROI by reducing waste and cut cost.
